BIOMETRIC REGISTRATION: I have to vote in 2016 therefore I AM!

As a Filipino, it is my duty to participate in the electoral process of this democratic country. No matter what the naysayers and cynics say about the election and government in general. I intend to exercise my right to choose the next president of Philippines come May 2016.

For me to be able to do that, I must comply with the Commission on Election's (COMELEC) biometric registration requirement.

Conveniently, COMELEC has partnered with Mall owners for this important activity. Check out this list of malls and the schedule of registration courtesy of Rappler.com.

I will file a leave of absence from work on Monday, September 28, 2015 and go to Robinson's Forum in Pioneer, Mandaluyong City.

I am bracing myself of long lines. But that is a simple price to pay for being able to vote freely the future leaders of this country.

At the very least, going there is another experience to blog about.

On another note, COMELEC should take advantage of the groundswell of nationalism created by the movie Heneral Luna. They should talk to mall owners/movie operators to show ads about the biometrics registration requirement and encourage all Filipinos to have a direct hand in choosing the country's leaders especially the next president.
