Today is Square Root Day

Apparently, math-loving people has declared a Square Root Day.

I was browsing google trends and found that it is the number 1 search phrase for today, March 3, 2009. And its because today is square root day.

Wikipedia thankfully has a definition of this day. It says that Square root day is a humorous holiday celebrated on dates where the day and the month are both the square root of the last two digits in the current year.

Another trivia for figure lovers. There are only nine square root day in a century. The last one for this century will be on September 9, 2081 (9/9/81).

I don't think I'm still be alive by that time though. But I hope I could share this info to my grandkids in those bonding sessions. Hahaha!!!
